Dear Commissioners;
We are writing to express our disappointment in the county
commissioners for reversing the fair board's decision
concerning the Quality Assurance Program.
This class was well publicized and hundreds of kids found
the time and made the effort to take the class. Our daughter
missed a family funeral to attend the last class because she
wanted to be able to sell in the sale.
By allowing them to take the class a this late date is useless.
The whole reason for the class was so that the owners of the
animals knew where to give injections and to learn about
antibiotic withdrawals so that buyers at the sale were assured
of quality meat. These kids have already given injections
and used antibiotics on their animals possibly incorrectly.
Therefore, you can no longer assure buyers that they are
getting quality meat.
We totally agree with Pat Kindvall's comment in the paper,
"If you conduct another class now then the program is a
wash."
We feel you were totally out of line by reversing the fair board's
decisionand the Quality Assurance Program has now become a farce!
Sincerely,
•
