We have reviewed information from the Weld County Soil Survey Manual regarding soils on
the above referenced property. We have also reviewed test boring logs from borings drilled
north of this property.
The upper soils on this site are generally Vona and Olney sandy loam. The soils in this area
are colluvial or wind blown. Clayey or silty sand underlies the sandy loam and
siltstone/sandstone bedrock underlies the sand stratum. The sandy soils in this area exhibit
low swell potential while the sandstone/siltstone bedrock exhibits low to moderate swell
potential.
Our review of soil maps and test boring data in this area indicates that no moderate to severe
limitations to the construction of structures or facilities on this site. Commercial/Industrial
facilities, underground utilities and roadways similar to to those proposed for this site have
been constructed on the property north of this site. Any actual construction of facilities and
infrastructure on this site must be proceeded by extensive soil surveys and testing which will
result in the development of specifications for foundations, underground utilities and roadways.
If the soil investigation indicates limitations to construction, project plans should be altered to
accommodate these limitations.
According to maps and other information available in this area there does not appear to be
sand, gravel or other mineral resources which would be economically feasible to mine.
