The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at Keenesburg's Town Hall, 140 S. Main St., Keenesburg, CO. Ms. Hoime will speak about the area's Community Task Force for Health Education. The Task Force has been focusing on drug and alcohol education, and activities for youth that deter them from drug and alcohol use. The Task Force desires to serve all Weld County citizens in the vicinity of Hudson, Keenesburg, Lochbuie, Prospect Valley, and Roggen. Public comment and in put is always welcomed at meetings of the Weld County Council. The public is invited to attend the August 7 Council meeting and provide ideas on health or other issues concerning Weld County government. Please call the Council office at 356-4000 x 4780 if more information is needed. The Council will have dinner at Charlie D's, 245 N. Market, Keenesburg, CO prior to the meeting. Weld County Council Seat Petitions Available Weld County residents who would like to serve on the Weld County Council may pick up petitions at the Weld County Election Department, 1402 N. 17th Avenue, Greeley, CO. Council positions up for election in 1996 are one at-large four-year term and one four-year term in Commissioner District 2, which includes central Greeley, Windsor, and Johnstown. The Weld County Council is a distinctive organization offering citizens and employees of Weld County the opportunity to participate in their County government. Persons may present their concerns regarding County government to the Council as the Council is charged to review all aspects of County government and make reports to the people. In addition to reviewing County government the Council has four other functions described in the Weld County Home Rule Charter: 1) to set salaries of elected officials, 2) to fill vacancies on the Board of County Commissioners, 3) to suspend public officials charged with a crime, and to 4) review conflicts of interest within County government.
