Environmental Protection Services has reviewed this proposal; the following
conditions are recommended to be part of any approval:
1. All liquid and solid wastes shall be stored and removed for final disposal
in a manner that protects against surface and groundwater contamination.
2. No permanent disposal of wastes shall be permitted at this site.
3. Fugitive dust shall be controlled on this site.
4. Any existing septic system(s) which is not currently permitted through the
Weld County Health Department will require an I.S.D.S. Evaluation prior to
the issuance of the required septic permit(s). In the event the system(s)
is found to be inadequate, the system(s) must be brought into compliance
with current Individual Sewage Disposal System regulations.

Thank you for the opportunity to review the captioned case.
As operator of the Cox 8-1 oil and gas well, Prima Oil & Gas Company would like to
voice certain concerns regarding the proposed private airstrip in the NW/4 of Section 8, T4N,
R64W.
First, Prima wishes assurance that the proposed airstrip will not block access to the
existing oil and gas well. Further, Prima wishes to be sure that the proposed runway will not
prevent further operations on the well including but not limited to workovers, recompletions or
redrilling. Finally, we would like to make it clear that from time to time it will be necessary to
bring equipment onto the wellsite some of which is, when full extended, approximately 100 feet
tall. While this is not inherently in conflict with the proposal, it is something the operator of a
private airstrip would be well advised to be aware of.
We would like to make it clear that Prima is not opposed to the airstrip, but we do want
the Planning Commission to be aware of how die airstrip could impact Prima's operations and to
take these requirements into consideration when reviewing the case.

your proposed private landing area. The airspace analysis will determine the effect the proposed
landing area will have on the safe and efficient use of airspace by aircraft, and the safety of
persons and property on the ground. Please attach an accurate location map, preferably a USGS
Quad map, designating the location of the proposed landing area. Please return the form and

I have visited the site and have the following comments:
The new residence is under construction. The main access serves a dual purpose for a runway
section and a residential access. There is an existing culvert in place. The sight distance is adequate
in both directions at this access. There is no indication of the a new outbuilding being placed at the
facility as of yet. The runway section does not appear to alter any of the drainage patterns on site;
therefore, the stormwater drainage does not appear to be altered.
I have observed overhead power lines parallel to WCR 48. The applicant has indicated on the
drawing that this section is to be part of the safety zone. How is the applicant going to address or
handle the overhead power lines?

In regards to case number USR-1137, the application from Pierre Beaugh for a private
airstrip, the Greeley -Weld County Airport will not be effected in any manner by the
installation of this airstrip. However, Mr. Beaugh does need to contact the Federal
Aviation Administration, and submit a form 7480-1, Notice of Landing Area Proposal. If
we can be of any help to Mr. Beaugh in completing this form please have him contact us.
