We are writing to request an addition to the road signs along 37th St. for entrances to
Lake Arrowhead Subdivision, As you are aware, the speed limit on 37th street along the
north border of our subdivision is 55mph. The street signs along 37th at the four
entrances to Arrowhead are relatively small and hard to read unless you are quite close to
the intersection. The result is that drivers have to slow considerably when searching for
the right street. We believe this presents a potential safety hazard as well as an irritant to
drivers, especially at night.
Our request is for the addition of the street name on the standard triangular warning signs
for an approaching intersection. These intersection warning signs are currently in place
for both directions of travel at three of the four intersections in question. There are no
warning signs as you approach, from either direction, the east loop of Arrowhead Dr. so
two additional warning signs for an approaching intersection would be required as well as
the appropriate street name on all eight of the warning signs. Additionally, would you
consider reducing the speed limit to 45mph east of 65th Ave.?
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
