RE: ITEMIZING LEGAL HOLIDAYS DURING CALENDAR YEAR 1997
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, following is a list of holidays proposed for 1997 as days off for Weld County
employees:
New Year's Day Wednesday, January 1, 1997
Washington/Lincoln Day Monday, February 17, 1997
Memorial Day Monday, May 26, 1997
Independence Day Friday, July 4, 1997, and
Thursday, July 3, 1997
(replaces Colorado Day)
Labor Day Monday, September 1, 1997
Veteran's Day Tuesday, November 11, 1997
Thanksgiving Thursday, November 27, 1997, and
Friday, November 28, 1997
(replaces King's Birthday)
Christmas Thursday, December 25, 1997,
(replaces Columbus Day)
and Friday, December 26, 1997
FLOATING HOLIDAYS:
Sheriffs Department (Court Personnel)-- Will follow holiday schedule as set by
State of Colorado.
District Attorney-- July 3, November 28, and December 26, 1997.
Human Resources -- Will follow holiday schedule as set by State of Colorado.
Head Start and Transportation -- Will follow holiday schedule as set by School
District#6.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the list of holidays as set forth above shall be observed during the
calendar year of 1997 as days off for Weld County employees.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 23rd day of October, A.D., 1996.
