Greeley, Colo. , Gentlemen:-- We are forwarding you to—day a formal request,, asking that a road of two miles in length, be established, leading across the Pawnee Irrigation ditch and. Pawnee creek. Thru this letter we hope to make you more intimately acquainted with the facts of the case so that you may see how great a necessity this road is to the homesteaders living in this vicinity. The Pawnee irrigation.-ditch is almost impassable the greater part -of the year and we are 'obliged to cross this ditch in going to any of our trading points ,, Keota,.Raymer or Buckingham. it is a common occurence for heavy loads to become mired and in win— _ ;_ter when. covered with ice , it ,is very dangerous to attempt driving __ _ - horses across. The Pawnee creek is almost as bad. Vie hope you will investigate this matter promptly,. for byes-- tablishirg this road you will be conferring a great benefit upon all the, homesteaders who are obliged to- cross the ditch and creek.
