RE: SITE SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT #1163 FOR AN
INDUSTRIAL USE (STORAGE AND PARKING OF OIL FIELD EQUIPMENT) IN THE A
(AGRICULTURAL) ZONE DISTRICT - AMEN
A public hearing was conducted on October 1, 1997, at 10:00 a.m., with the following present:
Commissioner George E. Baxter, Chair
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer
Commissioner W. H. Webster
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther Gesick
Assistant County Attorney, Lee Morrison
Planning Department representative, Shani Eastin
Health Department representative, Trevor Jiricek
Public Works representative, Don Carroll
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice duly published September 18, 1997, in the South Weld
Sun, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of Todd and Rhonda Amen for an
Industrial Use (storage and parking of oil field equipment) in the A (Agricultural) Zone District. Lee
Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, made this a matter of record. Shani Eastin, Department of
Planning Services representative, presented a brief summary of the proposal and entered the
favorable recommendation of the Planning Commission into the record as written. Ms. Eastin gave
a brief overview of the area stating that there are mature trees which create screening of the
property from the with a right-of-way exit on the north. The proposed use will not take any prime
farmland out of use and will be compatible with the surrounding land uses. Conditions of approval
address the concerns of being located within the Flood Hazard Overlay District, and responses
received from the City of Evans. Todd and Rhonda Amen were present to answer any questions
from the Board.
No public testimony was offered concerning this matter.
Commissioner Kirkmeyer moved to approve the request of Todd and Rhonda Amen for a Site
Specific Development Plan and Special Review Permit for an Industrial Use (storage and parking
of oil field equipment) in the A (Agricultural) Zone District, based on the recommendations of the
Planning staff and the Planning Commission, with the Conditions of Approval and Development
Standards as entered into the record. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Webster, and
it carried unanimously.
