RE: ELECTION OF CHAIR OF THE BOARD FOR 1997
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3-5(1) of the Weld County Home Rule Charter, the
Board of County Commissioners shall elect, at its first meeting in January of each year, a Chair
of the Board, and
WHEREAS, on January 6, 1997, the Board held its annual organizational meeting, and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Harbert moved to elect Commissioner George E. Baxter as
Chair of the Board for the year 1997, and Commissioner Webster seconded said motion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that Commissioner George E. Baxter be, and hereby is, elected to
serve as Chair of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, for the year
1997.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
and directed to sign all legal documents on behalf of the Weld County Commissioners and for
the County of Weld, also any document wherein the statutes require only the signature of the
Chair of the Board, attested to by the Clerk to the Board.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 6th day of January, A.D., 1997, nunc pro tunc January 1, 1997.
