A traffic count was taken on this portion of WCR 4. The count indicates that the traffic volume was sufficient to be considered for the County Roadway Improvement Plan. If approved, the roadway improvement will be designed in 2000, utility relocations and right-of-way acquired in 2001 with construction in 2002. In the meantime, another option for the local residents is to provide dust control materials. The County does not provide chemicals for dust control. Enclosed is the County's Ordinance 180 on the fugitive dust control. Should you need additional information, please contact Frank Hempen Jr. Director of Public Works, at 970-356-4000 Ext. 3750. Box 758 Greely, CO 80632 Dear Commissioners, County Road 4 has become a major route for trucks traveling east and west from Highway 85 to County Road 45 . This is because County Road 4 is halfway between Highway 52 and Bridge Street , with no speed restriction. There are residential areas and speed zones on Bridge Street , County Road 2 , and Highway 52 goes through Hudson. County Road 4 becomes a total washboard one day after it is graded. By the end of the week, it is a 10 to 15 MPH road. A count has been taken and County Road 4 has more than the required traffic to be paved. Also, enclosed, is a photo showing how bad the dust pollution is . If it is not feasible to grade more than once a week and treat to control the dust , the road should be paved. I feel that County Road 4 should be considered for paving in the near future. Thank you, Lar Rumery - 4` Ilt: i ►y'.c v 4,iRau y fir Hello
