Thank you for your letter in response to our March 13, 1997 correspondence regarding the One -
Stop Career Center system. The purpose of that correspondence was to seek your input on
proposed changes to our employment and training system, and we appreciate your time and
attention to this issue.
Your concerns regarding the projected statewide allocation of Wagner-Peyser and Employment
Support Funds for your region have been noted. We are continuing to discuss the distribution
formula, and although no final decisions have been made, we expect to finalize the allocation by
next week. As a decision is reached, we will keep your concerns in mind.
As you know, our goal is to create an innovate One -Stop Career Center system that will provide
flexibility and autonomy to local jurisdictions in designing services that effectively respond to
local needs. Your assistance in developing this system is appreciated, and I look forward to our
continued cooperation.
