COLORADO mEMORAnDU Drew Scheltinga, County Engineer To Date From Subject: Marc Street, Maintenance Support Supervisor October 16, 1995 Traffic Control Devices on WCR 55 at WCR 48 A physical inspection and a traffic count has recently done on the intersection on WCR 55 at WCR 48. There has been a significant increase in traffic in this area. On WCR 48, the flow of traffic through the intersection is currently controlled by "yield" signs for the eastbound and westbound lanes. The sight distance is extremely limited to the east from WCR 55. To insure the safety of the traveling public, the existing "yield" signs should be removed from both the eastbound and westbound lanes on WCR 48. "Stop ahead" and "stop" signs need to be installed on WCR 55 for the northbound and southbound lanes. This change would make WCR 48 a "through" road. Installations of these signs will bring this intersection into conformity with other intersections along WCR 55. All signing will conform to the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. cc: WCR files 48 and 55 m\engineer\war 952179 L oc.
