COLORADO March 17, 1999 MATT LOWRY 7019 WCR 5 ERIE, CO 80516 Dear Matt: Representative Bob Schaffer has shared your letter with the Weld County Commissioners office. Dave Becker, Operations Director of the Weld County Public Works Department, has discussed this request with your father, Mike Lowry. He explained that Weld County maintains, gravels, and paves roads within the County, but not within the city/town limits. The Town of Erie is it's own entity; therefore, the County does not have jurisdiction within the city limits of Erie. The town improves and maintains roads within its own boundaries. Your request to pave the roads in the city limits of Erie will be forwarded to Vic Smith, Mayor, Town of Erie. Thank you, Matt, for your inquiry. Sincerely, BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Dale K. Washington, DC 20515 10/21/98 Dear Representative, I live in Erie Colorado. The roads here are all dirt. Many allergy sufferers need to think about our health and the causes that dust will have on our bodies. Although it may not cause any life threatening diseases, I think it would be a wise investment. Dew to all the new construction of houses in and around Erie it would be wise to pave all of the roads. You could on the other hand keep on what you are doing, which is keep spraying all the oil on the roads, but then you have to look at the environmental effects. I think it would save money in the long run as well attract new home buyers. Sincerely # Matt Lowry cm ( 9 LKR. 5 &c-►c co W16 Hello
