HomeMy WebLinkAbout992601.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO OCTOBER 27, 1999 TAPE #99-34 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, October 27, 1999, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Dale K. Hall, Chair Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Pro-Tem Commissioner George E. Baxter Commissioner M. J. Geile Commissioner Glenn Vaad Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Kirkmeyer moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of October 25, 1999, as printed. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount of $325,030.45. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN -WELD FOOD BANK: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services, stated under this agreement the Department of Social Services will reimburse the Weld Food Bank $14.80 per food box for a total not to exceed $8,500, for a term beginning October 18, 1999, and ending September 30, 2000. Ms. Griego explained the project will be funded by Colorado Works in Weld County or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families resources. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Kirkmeyer, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER FOURTEEN LOW-INCOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LEAP) VENDOR AGREEMENTS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego stated these vendors will provide energy sources to eligible clients. In response to Commissioner Geile, Ms. Griego stated the amount for this year is lower than previous years. Responding to Commissioner Baxter, Ms. Griego stated the services will be billed at the standard rate; however, the clients will receive assistance through the Department of Social � a z R 992601 BC001016 Services. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve said agreements and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Kirkmeyer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
