RE: APPROVE FUNDING REQUEST FOR USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Funding Request for USDA Rural
Development Projects between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Housing
Authority, and the USDA Office of Rural Development, with terms and conditions being as
stated in said request, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said request, a copy
of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Housing Authority Board, that the Funding Request for USDA
Rural Development Projects between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through
the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Housing
Authority, and the USDA Office of Rural Development be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said request.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 22nd day of February, A.D., 1999.

FR: Thomas Teixeira, Executive Director
RE: Approval of USDA Rural Development Funding Request
Weld County Housing Authority is also requesting approval for assitance with finding of two
USDA/Rural Development projects. The housing authority will loan the money directly to the head
of household of the families and have them sign a Deed of Trust. The Office of Rural Development
will be responsible for the contracting and rehab work.

USDA/RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ASSISTANCE
Two requests for rehabilitation funds have been received from the USDA Office of Rural
Development.
A property at 790 Kattel Street in Erie, occupied by a disabled and elderly man, needs repairs in
the amount of$7,486.00. Rural Development can fund $3,075.00 of this amount and is
requesting $$4,411.00 assistance for project completion.
A property at 17227 Highway 394 in La Salle, occupied by an elderly couple, needs repairs
totaling over $10,242.00. Rural Development can fund $3,075.00 of this amount and is
requesting $7,167.00 for project completion.
The total amount of funding requested by the USDA/Rural Development is $11,578.00.
Descriptions of these projects are presented to the Board for your review.

Per our conversation of January 28, 1999 I was not able to hand deliver this application
for rehabilitation assistance for Mr. Gutierrez, So I am mailing you all the information
I have at hand.
This property needs extensive repairs on, plumbing, bath remodeling, roof and a front
deck that would be wheel chair accessible. Enclosed is a copy of bid and a repair
list for your information. The repairs total to $7,486.00, but our 504 Grant program
only allows applicant a maximum of$7,500.00 one time only. Which Mr. Gutierrez
does not excess, but at the present time our agency only has laeiga=f3f3-in the 504 Grant
program, we still have another applicant to assist in La Salle, CO. Please see what your
agency can do in participation with us to help out Mr. Gutierrez. The contractor would like
to start working mid-February on this project, if weather holds out.
Call me any time to discuss the possibility of joint participation.
