HomeMy WebLinkAbout960608.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO APRIL 10, 1996 TAPE #96-11 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, April 10, 1996, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair Commissioner George E. Baxter, Pro-Tem Commissioner Dale K. Hall Commissioner Constance L. Harbert Commissioner W. H. Webster Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Shelly Miller Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Harbert moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of April 8, 1996, as printed. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount of$20,598.63. Commissioner Webster moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY ($55,271.00): Bruce Barker, County Attorney, explained this amendment includes the correct amount for services provided by Assistant Weld County Attorney Jim Pope. Commissioner Harbert moved to approve said amendment. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Hall and carried unanimously. CONSIDER AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY ($36,092.00): Mr. Barker stated this amendment includes the correct amount for salary and benefits for Debra Morrell, Assistant Weld County Attorney, who was hired about two weeks ago. Commissioner Harbert moved to approve said amendment, and Commissioner Webster seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. 960608 BC0016 CONSIDER LOCAL HUMAN SERVICE DELIVERY SYSTEMS PLAN FROM WELD COUNTY LOCAL PLANNING COMMITTEE AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Jim Sheehan, representing Social Services Department, stated this plan is required under House Bill 94-1005, as discussed in a work session with Judy Griego, Social Services Director. He explained the plan is non-financial and requests State review to provide flexibility or change the human services delivery system. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve said plan and authorize the Chair to sign. The motion, seconded by Commissioner Hall, carried unanimously. CONSIDER EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT APPLICATION FOR 1996 TO COLORADO DIVISION OF HOUSING AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Mr. Sheehan recommended approval of this application requesting $40,181.00 to support operation costs for A Woman's Place, Catholic Charities Northern, and Greeley Transitional House; to support essential services for A Woman's Place, Weld Information and Referral Service, Greeley Transitional House, and Catholic Charities Northern; to support homeless prevention activities for Weld Information and Referral Service and Greeley Transitional House; and to provide resources of $1,900.00 for administration of the program. Commissioner Webster moved to approve said application and authorize the Chair to sign. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Harbert, and it carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
