Dear Mr. Redfern:
RE: Tower Lease and Operations
L.)
As you are aware, the Weld County Communications Center has worked continuously during the past two
years to acquire and develop a site to operate a backup E-911 dispatch center. Weld County had applied for and
received a Federal Energy Impact grant to subsidize this project.
Our efforts to research and acquire the best possible facilities have paid dividends for Weld County. Earlier
this month, Weld County purchased the tower, building, and associated properties at 3101 35th Avenue, Greeley,
known as the "GREELEY JUNCTION." We are in the early stages of developing this facility, however, we will be
moving ahead with this project rapidly.
As part of this project development, and in the interest of fiscal responsibility, the City of Greeley and Weld
County government will be relocating our antennas and associated radio equipment, which currently reside upon your
tower facility at 3115 35th Avenue, Greeley. Our time line for completing this move is largely in the hands of the
Federal Communications Commission (FCC). We have applied for the antennae relocations, and expect the return of
the new licenses before the end of August.
Mr. Andy Bellendir, of Colorado Front Range Communications, Inc., is acting as our coordinating agent in the
migration of this equipment. He will work with Business Radio to facilitate as smooth a transition as is practical, with
as little down time as possible for our users.
My understanding is that there will be some serviceable coaxial cable and associated fixtures we will possibly
leave for your use if you so desire. Mr. Bellendir will be in contact with your office regarding these fixtures, and our
developing project schedule.
The City of Greeley and Weld County, jointly and separately, has enjoyed an excellent working relationship
with your company for many years. We thank you for the services rendered by Business Radio and its employees.
Sincerely,
Kent D. Donahue
