HomeMy WebLinkAbout992692.tiff RESOLUTION RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY OF COMMISSIONERS REGARDING VIOLATION #9900142 AGAINST ROGER AND JUDY POE FOR VIOLATION OF THE WELD COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Roger and Judy Poe, VI #9900142, are allegedly in violation of the Weld County Zoning Ordinance, and WHEREAS, despite efforts by the Planning staff to resolve said matter, the violation has not been corrected, and WHEREAS, on the 9th day of November, 1999, a public hearing was held before the Board of County Commissioners for the purpose of hearing testimony relating to said violation, and WHEREAS, Roger Poe, property owner, was present at said hearing, and WHEREAS, at said hearing of November 9, 1999, the Board of County Commissioners deems conditions of the violation have changed and it is advisable to dismiss said matter, and to direct Department of Planning Services staff to work with the property owners in obtaining the necessary permit(s) to bring the property into compliance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that said violation be, and hereby is, dismissed. I had mentioned that Terrill Graf would be working for us in exchange for leaving his mobile home on the ranch. We had worked out a good agreement and sealed it all with a handshake. We plan to continue to pay his utilities and we require no payment from him for space rent. We will provide meat to him as he needs it and meals for him on occasion.. The agricultural economy has not been good for a while and the ranch does not generate enough income to justify a full-time hired man. This ranch requires more work than the two of us can do so financially this appears to be our answer. Terrill works for Heartland Agri Supply out of Grand Island, Nebraska, as a repairman repairing large field sprayers. He travels over Eastern Colorado, Western Kansas and Western Nebraska doing repairs as needed. Then in the fall of 2000, Terrill plans to start college at CSU and he will need a place to live. Of course, we won't be sure of his schedule or what hours he can work for us, but he has already proven to us to be available when we need him. We feel fortunate to have found Ten-ill because he was raised in ranch country in Cortez, Colorado, and has had ranching experience thus making him able to work with cattle, build fence, repair equipment and windmills. We feel confident enough in his abilities that we can be away on occasion knowing that Terrill can take care of the ranch. Just about a year and a half ago,we had all the inspections and paid all the fees and got signatures from ad our neighbors to allow a mobile home to be here on the ranch. At the bottom of this letter, you will notice that Terrill Graf has signed in agreement to all that we have stated. We are not sure who is allowed to have mobile homes on their property, but it seems to us that our need is as good as anyone's need.
