0 • SUB ECT: PlaDcement of stop signs t Appaloosa St. and
COLORADO Palomino St. in the Green Acres Subdivision
A traffic study has been completed and has revealed that there are sufficient warrants to
place stop signs at the intersection of Appaloosa St. and Palomino St. in the Green Acres
Subdivision.
The warrants are:
1. Intersection of a less important road with a main road where application of the
normal right-of-way rule is unduly hazardous.
Sight distance is restricted from two directions.
2. Street entering a through highway or street.
3. Unsignalized intersection in a signalized area.
4. Other intersections where a combination of high weed, restricted view and serious
accident record indicates a need for control by a stop sign.
The intersection meets warrants number one and number four. Current traffic volumes
dictate the need to stop traffic on Appaloosa St. at Palomino St. The through traffic will be
maintained on Palomino St.
I recommend these changes be made according to the attached diagram to protect the
safety of the traveling public. All signing will conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic
Control Devices.
