RE: APPROVE 2000 ANNUAL PLAN AND BUDGET FOR AREA AGENCY ON AGING
AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with the 2000 Annual Plan and Budget
between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, Area Agency
on Aging, and the Colorado Department of Health and Human Services, commencing July 1,
1999, and ending June 30, 2000, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said
budget, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said budget, a copy
of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the 2000 Annual Plan and Budget between the County of Weld,
State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on
behalf of the Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging, and the Colorado
Department of Health and Human Services be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said budget.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 13th day of September, A.D., 1999, nunc pro tunc July 1, 1999.

SUBJECT: Additional General Funds for Older Americans Act
Programs
Enclosed for Board approval is a budget for the expenditure of an additional $16,633.00 that was
allocated to the Weld County Area Agency on Aging on August 9, 1999. These new monies are a
result of an increase in overall state match of the Older American Act Programs given by the State
Legislature in the 1998/1999 legislative session.
The monies will be utilized to open additional(up to four)rural senior nutrition sites in communities
where no senior programs exist, and/or to support faltering senior programs in one to two rural
communities. Approximately 8,325 additional meals are proposed to be served to 200, 60 plus elders
annually.
The budget proposal is a result of a planning process entered into with members of the Area Agency
on Aging Advisory Board.
