Webster To '(1.1 County Commisioners, I am •citing to you on behalf othe Roggen Lions Club. A year ago -e tent to a presentation by Richard Eoralez from the A . L.I . L. Foundation. He vas shoving the work of the blood hound. /6LF It las -ith the help of these dogs that they were able to find the body Of his murdered granddaughter Alie Eo.relez . After the demonstration it vas the consensus of our club that it -ould he a good thing for eld County to have a blood hound of it's o.n. That way if some one ere missing in our county a search ith the blood hound could be launched right away. As it is now we would have to wait until a bloo( hound could be brought in from another rtcunty. It could mean the difference betteen finding them alive or dead. e have been in contact with Fvliks{ Wilson from the eld County Sheriffs Dept. He has looked into this matter. He has told us that there is a need for this in our County. He has also found several Officers -ho ,. ould be interested in working -ith the blood hound. The ''oggen Lions Club has purchased the dog. .;e 7ould like to see you budget in the expense to help make it possible for the 'Feld County Sheriffs Office to except this dog. e feel it would be agood asset to our County. I' this does not happen the dog ••ill have to be placed in another county making it more difficult for us to have access. The Roggen Lions club would much rather see our purchased dog used to the benefit of our o' n county. We are in the process of designating an handler to train and care for this dog. Our initial cost will be the limited to vet bills for check-ups and include some limited equipment (some presently in inventory) and dog food which will be covered within our current budget. Our practice has always been to not pay for any officer overtime until the dog is fully trained and in a working capacity on the street. Hello
