Eastin, Current Planner Department of Planning Services - Weld County Administrative Offices 1400 N. 17th Ave. Greeley, CO 80631 RE: USR-1104 Guy Grigsby & Amy Fieling Dear Ms. Eastin: I have reviewed the application and have no objections, providing that the Fire Districts Codes and Standards are met with regards to the building of a new home. 1. The required fire flow for the home will be dependant on the "fire area" or square footage of the home and garage if attached. For homes under 3,600 square foot the minimum fire flow is 1, 000 gallons per minute at 20 psi. For homes larger in size, the requirement increases. After determination is made regarding the required fire flow, the owner must provide a letter from the water supplier that the fire flow is available to the site. (Fire Protection Development Standards Chapter 5 ) . 2 . One fire hydrant is required for homes requiring a fire flow of less than 1, 750 gallons per minute at 20 psi. Homes requiring a higher fire flow may require more than one fire hydrant (Fire Protection Development Standards Chapter 6 ) . 3 . A readily visible address must be located on the house or on a free standing sign near the road. I have included a copy of the addressing standards of the Fire District for your reference. If there is another location the owner would like to use for the address, please contact me. (Fire Protection Development Standards Chapter 4 ) . 4 . The driveway to the residence must be at least twenty (20 ) feet in width, shall have unobstructed verticle clearance of thirteen feet- six inches ( 13 '6" ) , and shall be capable of supporting the imposed load of fire apparatus weighing at least sixty thousand (60 ,000 ) pounds.
