Box 758 Greeley, CO 80632 RE: Country Estates Subdivision Bruno Avenue Dear Board of County Commissioners, We are writing this letter to express our concerns on the possibility of reopening Bruno Avenue in the Country Estates Subdivision. We reside at 16405 Bruno Avenue. This is the middle section of Bruno Ave., that is currently blocked off by a "Road Closed" sign. We are very new to this development and are not fully educated about the history of Bruno Avenue. However, this will DIRECTLY effect our home, and we feel we should let our concerns be known. We are located approximately half way between Matthew and Tate Avenues on Bruno. We use the entrance of Bruno off from Tate Avenue to get to our home. Our property extends to Tate Avenue. We purchased this home because of it's location. We really liked being back off from Tate Ave.. We had no idea this road would ever be reopened. We strongly fear the public having access to this road, especially after hearing about the "parties and trash dumping" that occurred in the past on this road. We moved out of Brighton to this area in the hope of getting away from this type of atmosphere and to be able to live a safe and rural life. Our riding pens and play areas frordour four children are just off from Bruno 'satiety Avenue on our property, and their safety would be in danger if this road is opened to public vehicles. In addition, we depend on our neighbors who live across the street on Tate Ave. to keep an eye on the vehicles that drive down Bruno. They have an idea who should be coming and going when we are not home. Our house is set quite a way from the road and behind a hill. Our neighbors cannot see our house but they can watch for unknown vehicles which could deter our home from theft. If Bruno is reopened, anyone and everyone will have access to this road and it would then be fruitless to have neighbors watch. It would be so easy for our home to be burglarized or vandalized. 951133 Page 2 One of the issues raised at the May 9th Public Hearing was the desire to use Bruno for horseback riding and pedestrian use. We have not seen anyone using Bruno for this except for our family. And for the few people who expressed this desire, our question to them is, where will they be when the trash needs picked up and will they be there in the nighttime when the parties are happening, should this road be opened to the public? Another issue raised was whether Bruno Avenue is an issue for the Fire Department. We believe any response by the Fire Department to this development would come directly from WCR 8. They have a choice, they either go down Tate,if the call is from Tate, or they go down Matthews, if the callis from there. And if the call is from WCR 6 they can access WCR 6 from either Tate or Matthews. Each home owner has an access road from Tate or Matthews and we cannot see why Bruno would play a part in an emergency call to any of the homes with these street addresses. We feel leaving Bruno open as a street would only confuse matters which actually happened to us. We had an emergency call to the Fire Dept. and they were not able to locate our home. We would like to see Bruno vacated and we would use Tate as our address to avoid future problems. We appreciate what the other residents of this subdivision are feeling about reopening this street. But for the SO FEW people that wish to open Bruno, we feel their issues are quite small compared to the EIGHT residents who live on Bruno and will have to suffer from the effects should this road be opened. We feel, for what would be a small inconvenience to the few people who wish to reopen Bruno, and their issues, ourselves and the other seven residents would suffer damage and/or loss to our property and livestock. PLEASE CONSIDER US IN YOUR DECISION AND VACATE BRUNO AVENUE. Respectfu ly yo , Jim D. Weter Debra J. Webster 951133 Hello
