HomeMy WebLinkAbout961239.tiff Petition TO THE WELD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: CLE%V 1 TO 11E1 7 The undersigned, residents and taxpayers of Weld County hereby demand by Petition that Weld County pave that portion of Weld County Road #14 1/2 between Weld County Road #23 and Weld County Road #21. In support of our Petition we would enumerate the following reasons why paving this section of road is imperative: 1. This section of Weld County Road #14 1/2 is a major arterial road for heavy oil trucks lying as it does between the North edge of Fort Lupton and two major oil and gas processing facilities to the West approximately two miles. 2. The dust created by this heavy traffic is a serious health concern to the eight families living on this stretch of Weld County Road #14 1/2. 3. The health concern extends to the four families with children living on this unpaved section and the five families who raise livestock. 4. Dust abatement treatment is not a realistic alternative given the physical characteristics of the road itself and the nature and volume of the traffic. 5. A serious traffic safety issue is presented because of the dust, washboarding, and potholes attendant with the traffic load as well as the vehicle speeds when vehicles go from the paved portion of Weld County Road 14 1/2 on to the unpaved portion of this location. 6. The traffic counts taken by the County previously, are not accurate. 7. This area is in a rapidly developing area which continues to experience growth and attendant Increases In traffic volumes. For these reasons we request your immediate attention to this problem and your allocation of budgetary resources to address paving this section of road in your 1997 time(‘'kebi eC ; , Di, j 0110 \CI 961239 NAME ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER 1. 4 , ' M /0873 wog,, /v7/7- Loltico, (503) FS --0768, 2. c 141 /07`l/ IDC/4 ivX- ?9-/✓ ,oA• (1 SO32cs-7•1iv/ ,n 3.
