RE: APPROVE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES SECTION 8
HOUSING CERTIFICATES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with Colorado Department of Human
Services Section 8 Housing Certificates between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and
through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County
Housing Authority, and the Colorado Department of Human Services, with terms and conditions
being as stated in said certificates, and
WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Human Services has asked that the Board
return a Section 213 letter approving said certificates, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said certificates, a
copy of said letter is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Housing Authority Board, that the Colorado Department of
Human Services Section 8 Housing Certificates between the County of Weld, State of
Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the
Weld County Housing Authority, and the Colorado Department of Human Services be, and
hereby are, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said letter.

DATE: June 15, 1998
As discussed at the Housing Authority Work Session of June 15, 1998, HUD requires that
governmental entities be notified of applications that are submitted for Federal housing
assistance as part of the Section 213 process. The Colorado Department of Human Services has
provided rental assistance through two local agencies:
1. North Range Behavioral Health(formerly Weld Mental Health); and
2. Centennial Developmental Services, Inc (CDSI).
Both serve special needs populations and do not conflict with rental assistance provided through
either Greeley Housing Authority or Weld County Housing Authority.
The Colorado Department of Human Services has asked that the Board approve the Section 213
letter that has been provided.
Staff recommends Board approval of the Section 213 letter.
