Thanks goes in particular to Julie Chester and Robin Newbrey for their efforts in sponsoring, organizing, enlisting resident participation, directing and laboring in the cleanup. Our thanks also to all the other County personnel and volunteers that participated who I will not name individually for fear that I will leave someone out. Thanks to all. Lastly, I would like to thank the Board for voting for a judicious use of taxpayer's money in supporting this effort. There were, additionally, other than material aspects to the clean up. Several residents have mentioned to me in the past a perception that the Evanston area is a sort of forgotten stepchild so far from the seat of government in Greeley an isolated as they have become an enclave surrounded by the towns of Firestone and Frederick. I am sure that this feeling now has been reduced. Mention was made of having periodic meetings attended by local residents and personnel from the County where problems could be discussed and a sense of community pride fostered. This would help, additionally, to create a sense of cooperation between the residents and the County to the benefit of both. Very truly yours ohn S.
