Commissioner George E. Baxter, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert
Commissioner W. H. Webster
Also present:

Planning Department representative, Chris Goranson
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated September 25, 1996, and duly published October 3,
1996, in the North Weld Herald, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of Western
Wireless for a Site Specific Development Plan and Special Review Permit for a 70-foot monopole
radio communications tower and equipment structure in the A (Agricultural) Zone District. Lee
Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, made this a matter of record. Chris Goranson, Planning
Department representative, presented a brief summary of the proposal and entered the favorable
recommendation of the Planning Commission into the record as written. Don Sizemore, Western
Wireless representative, confirmed all Conditions of Approval and Development Standards are
acceptable. He stated this site represents part of a regional system on the cutting edge of
technology, which will market wireless communication to small- to medium-sized businesses at a
low cost. Mr. Sizemore reviewed other aspects of the technology and stated this type of
communication reduces the number of poles required. He noted this tower can be extended in
height without causing interference. Mr. Sizemore responded to questions from the Board, and no
public testimony was offered concerning this matter. Commissioner Harbert moved to approve the
request of Western Wireless for a Site Specific Development Plan and Special Review Permit for
a 70-foot monopole radio communications tower and equipment structure in the A (Agricultural)
Zone District, based on the recommendations of the Planning staff and the Planning Commission,
with the Conditions of Approval and Development Standards as entered into the record. The
motion was seconded by Commissioner Webster, and it carried unanimously.
