We are property owners next to a proposed Brine disposal site at Weld County roads 39 and 40.
The company wanting to operate the disposal site is Evorocycle LLC. I am strongly opposed to
this facility opening right across the road from my house. The location that Evorocycle has
chosen has a major safety hazard. There is a hill on WCR 39 about 200 yards to the South of the
intersection of WCR 39 &WCR 40. Trucks turning onto WCR 39 from WCR 40 can not see
North bound traffic until a vehicle crests the hill. Vehicles on county roads quite often, if not
always exceed the speed limit. As a north bound car or truck crests the hill they will find a truck
in the middle of the road and a very serious accident can occur. I have witnessed several very
close calls at this intersection. This intersection has many skid marks on the pavement where
close calls have been. This safety hazard will only increase with the additional truck traffic at
this intersection. I invite you to come out and sit on County Road 40 facing West and see if you
feel safe turning onto County Road 39.
On page three letter D of the Land Use Application Summary Sheet states that the proposal is
not located within a three-mile referral boundary of any community. You have just approved a
resort type community 1 mile to the South of this proposed disposal site. The Greeley Tribune
article shows 800 homes are planned at Pelican Lake. What kind of effect will this disposal site
have on these high dollar homes/community? What kind of odor will drift to my house and the
resort?
I also feel that this facility will decrease my property value. As the drawing for the facility
appears it will be right in front of my house to block our beautiful Eastern view. The additional
traffic on WCR 40 will increase the amount of dust in the air causing my son Nicholas, more
problems with his Asthma.
I understand the need for such a facility but I do not believe that this is the right location. I am
very concerned about the traffic hazard at this intersection. Please come out to this intersection
to see for yourself. At intersection 40 & 39 you can not see over the hill nor can North bound
traffic see you. Please consider this safety issue very strongly.
Thank you for your time and consideration of the above issues
