Home My WebLink About982318.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO NOVEMBER 30, 1998 TAPE #98-32 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in a regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, November 30, 1998, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Constance L. Harbert, Chair Commissioner W. H. Webster, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED Commissioner George E. Baxter Commissioner Dale K. Hall Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Hall moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of November 25, 1998, as printed. Commissioner Kirkmeyer seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount of $23,299.07. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Kirkmeyer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. BUSINESS: NEW: CONSIDER COORDINATION AND PURCHASE OF SERVICES AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - WELD FOOD BANK: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services, stated under this agreement the Social Services Department will reimburse the Weld Food Bank for the mini-food box program in the amount of $2,468.04. Commissioner Hall moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Kirkmeyer, the motion carried unanimously. k'-�LZJ 982318 Cc: BC0016 CONSIDER NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARD UNDER THE WELD COUNTY PROMOTING SAFE AND STABLE FAMILIES PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN -CATHOLIC CHARITIES: Ms. Griego stated the total award is $50,000 to serve fifty at-risk families with two family advocates in southern Weld County. She stated the term of the award is October 1, 1998, through September 30, 1999. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve said award and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Kirkmeyer, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARD UNDER THE WELD COUNTY PROMOTING SAFE AND STABLE FAMILIES PROGRAM GRANT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - WELD COUNTY DIVISION OF HUMAN SERVICES: Ms. Griego stated the total award is $50,000 to serve sixty at-risk families with one family advocate in Greeley and northern Weld County. She stated the term of the award is October 1, 1998, through September 30, 1999. Commissioner Kirkmeyer moved to approve said award and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Baxter, the motion carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
