Box 758 Greeley, CO 80632 RE: Account#110019438 Dear Board Members: On June 30, 1999, I faxed my appeal form far my Notice of Valuation of Personal Property to the Weld County Assessor's Office in Greeley. I realize that I was doing this on the last date pncdl*,but had planned to mail it that day. The Windsor Post Office's mail carrier had no mail for us at my place of business that day;therefore, the appeal form was not picked up and in the mail stream, and by the time I realized this,it was well past 7:00p.m. When I returned home, I attempted to fax the form(it was approximately 10:50 p.m.)and found that my computer and fax machine_were not operating properly_ I believe that it was approximately 12:I5a.m. (July 1, 1999)when I finally was able to use my fax machine. When I initially mailed in my form with my personal property data and figures, I did not realize that I should have deducted the depreciation from my totals. I have owned this business for just a little aver a.year and I am still learning. A fellow-business owner infonned me on June 29, 1999 that I might have forgotten to adjust my figures with the depreciation totals. I respectf ally request that you_renroncirler my filing of the Appeal Form. I have been very shorthanded at my business in the past few months and have found the working hours and accounting responsibilities for my business quire overwhelming My son also passed-auray earlier this yeaz and I simply fell behind on much of my business responsibilities. I assure you that my mistakes will not be repeated and, once ag2in, ask that you reconsider your derision to rule-my appeal as a late filing.
