RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE TRAFFIC CONTROL ON WELD
COUNTY ROAD 49 BID - PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for Traffic Control on Weld County Road 49 for the Department of Public Works, Bid
Request No. B9900172, due to the need for traffic control before the construction project is
started, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-
day waiting period for said bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the Traffic Control on Weld County
Road 49 for the Department of Public Works, Bid Request No. B9900172 be, and hereby is,
waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid from Northern Colorado
Traffic Control, in the amount of $38,490, be, and hereby is, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 2nd day of August, A.D., 1999.

BID REQUEST NO. B9900172
Two quotations were received for traffic control on the WCR 49 shouldering project.
Northern Colorado Traffic Control quoted a price of$38,490.00. Rocky Mountain Safety Service
quoted $61,940.00.
The Weld County Public Works Department recommends that the Board of Weld County
Commissioners accept the bid from Northern Colorado Traffic Control, the low bidder, for traffic
control on WCR 49 for shouldering at a cost of$38,490.00. If a bond is required,there will be a 1%
cost increase, making the total $38,874.90.
