Gentlemen:
The organizational meeting of the board of directors of the
Regional Transportation District (Senate Bill 309) has been
scheduled for Thursday, September 4, 1969, at 3 p.m. at the
offices of the Denver Regional Council of Governments, 2475
West 26th Avenue, Denver.
The Council of Governments is assisting in the organization
of the District.
The Transportation District Act requires that the board of
directors meet as soon as they are appointed and that their
appointments be made upon the effective day of the Act (July 1,
1969) or as soon thereafter as possible. It also requires in
Section 89-20-9 (d) that the appointments shall require the
approval of a majority of the governing bodies of the cities
and towns located within or partially within the county.
Confirmation of their approval should accompany the list of
appointees.
In order that the Council can proceed with the required
preliminaries such as arranging for oaths of office and fidelity
bonds, it is necessary that the appointing agencies who have not
yet done so, forward the names and home addresses of their
appointees to this office by August 15, 1969.
Once the Council receives the names of the appointees it will
proceed with the necessary arrangements.
