Brooking SUcOYV 640179 TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR AND IN THE COUNTY OF WELD, STATE OF COLORADO: We, the undersigned, each being an owner of agricul- tural lands located within the bounds herein provided and being susceptible of drainage by the same general system of works herein specified, respectfully present this Petition for the organization of a drainage district, pursuant to and in accordance with Chapter 47, Article 1, Colorado Revised Statutes 1953, state that: 1. The name of the proposed district is "Newell Lake Drainage District." 2. The purpose of the proposed district is to provide a complete drainage system for the district and it's inhabitants, such system to maintain the agricultural lands in a productive or useful state, or to make the agricultural lands more produc- tive or useful by drainage. 3. The lands within said proposed district are not at present cultivatable or useful or fully so, or would not be cultivatable or useful or fully so without drainage, and the said lands are more productive and useful with drainage, or can be made more productive and useful by drainage. L1. The proposed district is located in Weld County, Colorado, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest corner of the North- west quarter (NWi:) of Section 19, Township 4 North, Range 68 vest of the 6th P.M.; thence North along the West line of said Section 19 to the Southwest corner or Section 18, Township 4 North, Range 68 West of the 6th P.M.; thence North along the West line of said Section 18 to the Southwest corner o2' Section 7, Township 4 North, Range 68 West of the 6th P.M.; thence North 1155 feet, more or less, along the West line of said Section 7 to a point on the unincorporated lateral ditch serving the Lucas farm; thence Easterly 665 feet,more or less, along the South boundary of said lateral ditch; thence South on a line parallel to the west line of said Section 7,640 feet, more or less; thence South 85°00' East 660 feet, more or less, to a point on the West line of the East one-half (E?) of the Southwest quarter (SW-') of Said Section 7; thence as amended, and in support of the Petition North 3550 feet, more or less, along the ;Jest line of the East one-half (E'=) of the West one-half (WO of said Section 7 to a point on the unincorporated lateral ditchserving the Lebseck farm; thence Easterly 1340 feet, more or less, along the South boundary of the said lateral ditch to a point on the Vest line of the Northeast quarter (NEf) of said Section 7; thence North 1240 feet, more or less, along the said West line of the Northeast quarter (N'?) to the Northwest corner of said Northeast quarter (I) of Section 7; thence Northeasterly 2150 feet, more or less, along the Center line of the unincorporated lateral ditch serving the Helmuth 0. and Alice M. Miller property; thence Southeasterly 495 feet, more or less, along said lateral ditch; thence Northeasterly 1650 feet, more or less, along said lateral ditch; thence Easterly 165 feet, more or less, along said lateral ditch to a point on the East line of the Southeast quarter (SE;.-) of Section 6, Township L North, Range 66 :lest of the 6th P.M.; thence South 2060 feet, more or less, along said East line of the sa,d Southeast quarter (S;?'l) of Section 6 to the North- east corner of Section 7, Township 4 North, Range 66 :rest of the 6th P.M.; thence South 3465 feet, more or less, along the East line of said Section 7 to a point on the unincorporated lateral ditch serving the Oliver lagner, Helen Wagner Be -in Farms and Newton Schaal Farms; thence Easterly along the South boundary of said lateral ditch 495 feet, more or less; thence Southerly along the Jest boundary of said lateral ditch 990 feet, more or less; thence Southeasterly along the Jest boundary of said lateral ditch 970 feet, more or less, to a point on the North line of Section 17, Township 4 North, Range 66 West of the 6th P.M.; thence Southerly along the West boundary of the unincorporated lateral ditch serving Rein 'Farms, Inc. and Newton H. North, Rcng e 6u .Jest of the 6th F.M.; thence South 1070 feet, more or less, along the said East line of the Northeast quarter (NV--.); thence Southwesterly 650 feet, more or less, alone; the Northwest boundary of the unincorporated lateral ditch serving} the Manley R. Nelson property to,c point on the South line of the North one-half (N—) of seid Section 19; thence :Jest along the said South line of the North one-half (N-) 4620 feet, more or less, to point of beginning; EXCEPT one (1) acre in the Northeast corner of Section 19, Township 4 North, Range 68 West of the 6th P.M.; 5. We, the petitioners, hereby select and name the following committee of three persons from among our'number who present herewith this petition to the Board of County Commissioners and who have given notice thereof as provided in Chapter 47, Article 1, Section 6, Colorado Revised Statutes 1953, as amended. This petition is accompanied herewith by cash or a good and sufficient bond with sureties in the amount of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) in a penal sum double the amount of the probable cost of organizing said district, conditioned for the payment of all costs incurred in said proceedings in case said organization shall not be effected. WHEREFORE, Petitioners pray that this Honorable Board of County Commissioners make an order defining and establishing the boundaries of said proposed district and designating the name of said Proposed District to be the Newell Lake Drainage District; and that this Honorable Board cause the question of the organization of the proposed district to be submitted to a vote of the owners of the lands lying within the boundaries thereof; and that this Honorable Board enter such other orders and decrees as may be necessary or proper for the organization of said district, in accordance with law.
