The Environmental Protection Division has received a letter from Steve Steerman
regarding waste products which may generated at his taxidermy business. In
addition, I spoke with Steve on October 6, 1995. According to Steve he will only
be throwing away empty containers. These can be disposed with normal household
trash according to current Hazardous Waste Regulations. However, I did advise
Steve that he should contact Neil Kowley ((303) 692-3309) if he needs to dispose
of any product. Neil is a Small Business Hazardous Waste consultant with the
CDPHE.
In addition, we have located the Steerman's septic permit (attached).
If you have any questions, please call me at extension 2232.

This location is Lot 7, Block 2 of County Estates Subdivision directly south of WCR 8 on Matthew
Ave. From the plot plan, the applicant is indicating one existing gravel driveway to the lot. The
proposed parking spaces directly off the driveway on the north side adjacent to the proposed
taxidermist shop are adequate for the facility. No new access will be granted to the property.
The applicant is indicating the storm water drainage will be handled on site with the proposed
taxidermist shop having gutters on the building with down spouts. Considering the size of the lot
and one additional building, I do not foresee any storm water drainage problem at this site.

Dear Ms. Dunn:
We have reviewed the above referenced proposal to establish an inhome taxidermy business
on a 10 acre lot. The water supply for the lot is a well, with permit No. 142434, issued for
domestic use. As long as the taxidermy business is conducted within the existing dwelling, and the
property is not zoned commercial, we will have no objection to the proposal.
If you have any questions in this matter, please contact me.
