RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Amendment to Agreement between
the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social Services, and the Weld County Attorney,
with terms and conditions being as stated in said amendment, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said amendment, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services, that the Amendment to Agreement
between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social Services, and the Weld
County Attorney be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said amendment.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 11th day of March, A.D., 1998.

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
AND WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY
This Amendment is executed as of March , 1998,by and between Bruce Barker, Weld
County Attorney (hereinafter referred to as"Contractor") and the Weld County Department of
Social Services (hereinafter referred to as"Department"):
This Amendment is necessary to modify the current contract for legal services (No.6237) in order
to increase its funding.
The Department and the Contactor therefore agree as follows:
1. Term of the Agreement
The term of the agreement shall be in effect from January 1, 1997 through December 31,
1997, and will not exceed twelve months.
2. Exhibit 2. Total Costs.
The total cost of the Agreement shall be increased to $142,000.
Except as modified herein,the terms and conditions of the original agreement(No 6237)together
with all exhibits of the original Agreement, remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have duly executed the Amendment as the day,
month, and year first above written.

RE: Amendment to Agreement Between Weld County
Department of Social Services and Weld County Attorney
Enclosed for Board approval is an amendment to an Agreement between the Weld County
Department of Social Services and Weld County Attorney.
The amendment provides for an overall increase from the beginning level of$138,000 to
$142,000. This increase is to cover general attorney services for calendar year 1997.
