Dear Ms. Kirkmeyer:
Administrator Hinson has asked me to respond to your letter
on behalf of Weld County citizens who are impacted by
aircraft noise from Denver International Airport (DEN) .
Please be assured that the Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) is committed to mitigating the effects of aircraft
noise wherever it can. The FAA is also committed to working
with communities such as yours to resolve concerns such as
you have expressed.
We appreciate the information provided with your letter
concerning altitude ceilings for DEN. It will be forwarded
to the FAA' s Northwest Mountain Region (ANM) for
information.
The ANM personnel are working very hard to address the
aircraft noise concerns at DEN. Our local air traffic
managers and regional office managers are continuously
seeking procedural changes and safe operating practices, in
conjunction with the city and county of Denver and other
concerned parties to minimize the effects of the aircraft
noise problems.
An identical letter has been sent to each cosigner of your
letter.
If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Bill F. Jeffers
Director of Air Traffic
