HomeMy WebLinkAbout981554 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO AUGUST 24, 1998 TAPE #98-22 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, August 24, 1998, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Constance L. Harbert, Chair Commissioner W. H. Webster, Pro-Tem Commissioner George E. Baxter Commissioner Dale K. Hall Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer - EXCUSED Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick Comptroller, Claud Hanes MINUTES: Commissioner Webster moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of August 19, 1998, as printed. Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Claud Hanes, Comptroller, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount of$24,278.32. Commissioner Hall moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Hanes. Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. BUSINESS: NEW: CONSIDER AMENDMENT TO CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - FRANK M. ANDREWS, PH.D.: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services, stated under this amendment, Frank Andrews, Ph.D., will provide consultation for foster parents, and will be reimbursed a maximum of$19,700, she added these funds are from the CORE Services budget. Ms. Griego stated the term of this amendment is through August 31, 1998, and will be replaced with a new agreement which will be effective September 1, 1998. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve said amendment and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Webster, the motion carried unanimously. 981554 BC0016 141 CONSIDER AMENDMENT TO CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - ACKERMAN AND ASSOCIATES, P.C.: Ms. Griego stated Ackerman and Associates, P.C., will be providing similar services as discussed above; however, the maximum allowable reimbursement total will be $24,000. She further stated foster parents will be able to choose which consultant they will work with. Ms. Griego explained a new agreement will be executed beginning September 1, 1998. Commissioner Webster moved to approve said amendment and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Hall, the motion carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
