Dolores Sanchez-Maes United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development 655 Parfet Street, Room E-100 Lakewood, CO 80215 Re: Letter of Support Dear Ms. Sanchez-Maes: This letter supports the Catholic Charities and Community Services Farm Labor Housing Corporation's farm worker housing project. Catholic Charities and Community Services Farm Labor Housing Corporation proposes building and operating a 40-unit farm worker housing project in Greeley, Colorado. Thirty units will be three-bedroom and ten units will be four- bedroom. There are 1,570 local seasonal families and 840 migrant families living in Weld County. Most live in overcrowded housing or housing they cannot afford. There is increased homelessness for these people because of greater housing shortages for them over the past several years. This has discouraged many families from returning to northern Colorado for work. We see a clear need for farm worker housing in Weld County and encourage your strong support. Very truly yours, BOARD OF COUNTY COMMI SIONERS Lit arbara J. Kirkmey , Chair 1.#7 Geor e E. Baxter, Pro Tem Dale K. Hall Absent at Signing Constance L. Harbert . . Webster BOCC:vds 961315 Hello
