Dear Commissioners :
You can help hundreds of people who are having problems that
are not their fault and , at the same time , bring more revenue
and prosperity to your county .
Hundreds of people who purchased mobile homes and have now paid
for them are being told by Denver area parks that their homes
must be moved . Parks in this area are full and , even if they
had a space or two , wouldn ' t accept homes older than 1985 or ,
sometimes , if older than 1990 or 1992 or some other arbitrary
date that has nothing to do with the condition of the homes .
These people stand to lose a valuable asset , sometimes an asset
that represents their entire life savings .
I propose to form a co—op to enable these people to pool what
little money they can spare and to use it to purchase land that
can be subdivided into lots of varying sizes , small for those
who don ' t want to care for a large lawn , to a acre sites for
those who want gardens , orchards or whatever .
One of our principal aims would be to have each party own the
lot on which they would locate with monthly purchase payments
considerably less than the $300 to $400 (and up) lot rent now
being charged by the parks .
If you look favorably on such a humanitarian project (which
should be good Public Relations for you) , please send me the
necessary forms and instructions to get started with the required
procedures . An estimate of the time needed to process everything
would also be appreciated . Since many of these homes need to
be moved immediately , would it be permissible for them to be
parked on the land , but not occupied , during the paperwork
processing period?
If you are opposed to the project there is no need to reply .
We do not want to fight city hall .
