MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 12, 1996
Meeting called to order at 6:30 PM-
Roll call showed 9 council members,Barbara Foster Weld County EMS Coordinator,Bruce Barker Weld County Attorney,and
3 Guests.
A discussion was held about the Weld County Home Rule Regulation limiting advisory board members to two consecutive terms.
Because of the confusion on the regulation and the rewrite of the LAMS Council's By-laws,it was agreed to start fresh at the first
of 1997. Mr.Barker then assisted in the rewrite of the By-laws.

Cloyd Conley reported on the Weld County Fire Chiefs Meeting that was held the previous night. The WCFCA voted for the
following Sector Representatives:Marlene Richter in Sector 2, Gary Sandau in Sector 3,and Ken Montoya in Sector 4. Cloyd
also reported that the new President is Angie Wiley and the Vice-President is Randy Kern.
Ed Herring reported that the Weld County Sheriffs office is building a training house just North of the Cache La Poudre River
and West of 11 Ave. The training house will be available for use by Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS Departments.
Greg Valcourt reminded everyone that the Transition Class deadline is December 31, 1997. Every EMT-B who wants to
recertify must have taken these classes. Greg reported that the Greeley Fire Department will have completed all twelve classes by
May 1, 1997. Greg intcrmed us that Aims College is becoming certified as an EMT-I Training Center. They hope to start
classes by July 1, 1997.
Greg said that Aims College is becoming a Scantron School. Scantron is a computer record keeping system in which paper can
be scanned stored and scored. Randy Souther has transferred to the Fire Division from the EMS Division. Its former position is
open in-house for one week and if the position is not filled then it will be adverazed.
Maggie Valcourt reported that North Colorado Medical Center has formally applied for a Level II designation. The ACS Survey
Team is expected next August or September. Peudre Valley Hospital is waiting to be rechecked for I.,evel II and McKee is
applying for Level III.
A discus on was held on the 1997 billing. The amounts are expected to remain the same as last yeas. Barbara Foster will visit
with Gary McCabe about sending out bills.
Barbara Foster reviewed the 1997 EMS Grant application. A long discussion was held about digital paging. Barbara Foster
demonstrated the digital pager that she uses. If there are any questions about digital paging run McEachron stated that he and
Kent Donahue will be glad to answer them.
Tim McEachron reported that the E-911 Board meets the third Tuesday of each month. Tun further reported that the Colorado
State Patrol will be sponsoring a meeting on December 15, at their office 14 Ave. And 2 St The meeting is to discuss the
moving of the Colorado State Patrol's Dispatch Center from Greeley to Denver. The meeting will start at 9:00 AM.
