Home My WebLink About992116.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES HOUSING AUTHORITY WELD COUNTY, COLORADO AUGUST 23, 1999 TAPE #99-28 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Housing Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, August 23, 1999, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called'to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Dale K. Hall, Chair- EXCUSED Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Pro-Tern - EXCUSED Commissioner George E. Baxter Commissioner M. J. Geile Commissioner Glenn Vaad Also present: County Attorney, Bruce Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther Gesick Finance and Administration Director, Don Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority Board meeting of July 26, 1999, as printed. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. BUSINESS: NEW: CONSIDER COORDINATED AND PURCHASE OF SERVICES AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN - A WOMAN'S PLACE, INC.: Tom Teixeira, Director of the Greeley/Weld County Housing Authority, stated this agreement will provide $6,777.00 to continue funding services provided by A Woman's Place, Inc. He explained the monies are from a State grant. In response to Commissioner Geile, Mr. Teixeira stated the funds are restricted to providing for the homeless. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Vaad, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER COORDINATED AND PURCHASE OF SERVICES AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN - CATHOLIC CHARITIES NORTHERN: Mr. Teixeira stated this agreement will provide a total $20,905. He explained $5,000 will be used for rent assistance to prevent homelessness, and the remainder will be used at the Catholic Charities Northern facility. 992116 pc; ,e� Q next, -vBC0016 Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Geile, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER COORDINATED AND PURCHASE OF SERVICES AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN - GREELEY TRANSITIONAL HOUSE: Mr. Teixeira stated this agreement will provide $13,453 to continue providing shelter at the Greeley Transitional House. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Vaad, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER CDBG CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN: Mr. Teixeira stated this contract will provide $202,400 to be used for the rehabilitation program and these funds will be matched with $181,000 funded by monies obtained from the Department of Agriculture and from the loan repayment program. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said contract and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Geile, the motion carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
