Governor Romer has approved $100,000 in disaster emergency funds being made available to
assist your county in addressing costs associated with the 1995 flood season. The funds provided
your jurisdiction are intended to partially finance the costs associated with emergency pumping
and road repairs at numerous locations.
We recognize that your expenses exceeded this amount. Our analysis indicates that the county
has sufficient funds in reserve to be able to address the balance of the critical needs that must
immediately be addressed. You also have the option of using the emergency processes available
under Tabor and going to local election to seek additional funds from your electorate.
We encourage you to review your revenue and expenditure situation to determine whether an
election will be necessary to allow you to receive and expend these funds.
Local Affairs field staff will contact you to discuss how these funds will be released. You should
he prepared to fully document your costs in order to receive reimbursement. If necessary we are
prepared to release funds in advance of expenditure should you have cash flow problems.
