MEMORANDUM
TO: Julie Chester, Current Planner DATE: June 29, 1998
CFROM: Don Carroll, Engineering Administrator St
SUBJECT: USR-1192; Little Thompson Water District
COLORADO
The Weld County Public Works Department has reviewed this proposal; the following requirements are
recommended to be a part of any approval:
COMMENTS: •
WCR 7 is designated on the Transportation Plan Map as a local gravel road directly south of State Highway 60 and
is maintained by Weld County.
The applicant is indicating multiple use as a tower site in the northwest corner of the proposed USR. Multiple use
is encouraged whenever possible. The landscape drawing is identifying larger trees which should be relocated to
accommodate development
REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant is identifying a proposed access on the site which should be a graded and drained all weather
access. The existing access should be abandoned.
The applicant should identify a traffic circulation plan throughout the site. There is an existing multi use tower site
and building structure. Parking should be at a location large enough to accommodate users. The existing access
will remain onto WCR 7 approximately 1/z mile south of State Highway 60. This access is a private access and is
not maintained by Weld County.
The applicant has supplied a statement on Storm Water Drainage. I am concerned about the location of the
proposed additional tank as it appears to be on a hill section. This would be a concern to me if I were an adjacent
property owner. I would like to have the applicant supply me with the additional information and/or calculations on
how the storm water will be handled.

Dear Ms. Chester:
The Berthoud Fire Protection District has completed the review of the Little Thompson Water
District for a treated water storage tank on the twin mounds site. We have no conflict with the
proposed construction at this time.
We would request that the access roadway be designed and maintained to support the imposed
load of fire apparatus. The surface of the roadway should provide an all weather driving capability
to the area of the hydrant. A standard gravel/soil road base would be acceptable.
If you have any questions, please call my office.
Sincerely, , 7
