HomeMy WebLinkAbout982094.tiff MINUTES OF THE WELD COUNTY UTILITIES ADVISORY COMMITTEE A regular meeting of the Weld County Utilities Coordinating Advisory Committee was held on Thursday, August 27, 1998, at 10:00 a.m., in the Conference Room of the Weld County Administrative Offices at 1400 N. 17th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado. Members Present Don Carroll, Weld County Public Works Bill Gray, Public Service Gary Sandau, LaSalle Fire District • Also Present: Scott Ballstadt, Planner II, Department of Planning; Wendi Inloes, Secretary. CASE: S-465 PLANNER: Scott Ballstadt APPLICANT: Town of Briggsdale REQUEST: Vacation of Right-of Way LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Blocks 1-4, Blocks 5-16, and Lots 1-20, Town of Briggsdale, Weld County, Colorado. LOCATION: Town of Briggsdale The application proposes to vacate 40 feet of right-of-way (20 feet on each side of the street) from each of the following streets: Main Street Milton Street Leslie Street Second Avenue Third Avenue Fourth Avenue Fifth Avenue The alleys in Blocks 12 and 13, and no other alleys being vacated The application also proposes to vacate 20 feet of right-of-way on the north side of Lee Street, as this street currently has 70 feet of right-of-way. The application does not propose any vacations on First Avenue, as this currently has 40 feet of right-of-way. Bill Gray of Public Service suggested that they would like to have a 20-foot easement along 3rd street and the north side of town for utility easement. Bill also suggested they would like some type of verbiage on the plat of a 20-foot easement on all new right-of-ways, and adding some language that would allow existing structures to be grand fathered. Scott Ballstadt stated he did have some proposed verbiage from Bruce Barker, County Attorney, stating the following could be added to the plat: A utility easement shall be reserved for the benefit of existing and future placement of utilities in the vacated road right-of-way, including alleys. It was discussed among the members that existing structures be added to the verbiage. Scott stated this could be added to the verbiage. Don Carroll asked if there were any objections to the acceptance of the plat, along with the Boards recommendations. There were none. Motion carried unanimously.
