RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO NEW DIRECTIONS INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT WITH HUMAN SERVICES, EMPLOYMENT SERVICES, AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Amendment to New Directions
Intergovernmental Agreement between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through
the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social
Services, and the Weld County Department of Human Services, Employment Services,
commencing July 1, 1996, and ending June 30, 1997, with further terms and conditions being
as stated in said agreement, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said agreement, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services, that the Amendment to New
Directions Intergovernmental Agreement between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by
and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department
of Social Services, and the Weld County Department of Human Services, Employment
Services, be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said agreement.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 25th day of November, A.D., 1996, nunc pro tunc July 1, 1996.

Amendment to New Directions Intergovermental Agreement
Between the Weld County Department of Social Services
and the Weld County Department of Human Services
This Amendment made and entered into this 25th Day of November 1996, by and between the
Weld County Department of Social Services, hereinafter referred to as "Social Services," and the
Employment Services of Weld County through the Weld County Department of Human Services,
hereinafter referred to as "Employment Services":
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, the parties desire to modify their current agreement for New Directions services (No.
FY96-ND-002) in order to decrease its funding; and
WHEREAS, the authority exists in the Law and funds have been budgeted, appropriated, and
otherwise made available; and
WHEREAS, required approval, clearance and coordination have been accomplished from and
with appropriate agencies.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the parties hereto covenant and agree as
follows:
1. Exhibit 1, Contract Costs, shall change the twelve (12) month period to end June 30, 1997.
2. Exhibit I, Item A. Employment Services will be provided personnel costs, as outlined in the
Weld County New Directions Plan, as submitted and approved by the State Department of
Human Services. The Budget computation shall be decreased to $66,160.
3. Exhibit I, Item B. Employment Services will be provided operating and travel costs as
outlined in the Weld County New Directions Plan, as submitted and approved by the State
Department of Human Services. The Budget computation shall remain the same at $4,560.
4. Exhibit 1, Total shall be decreased to $70,720.00.
5. Exhibit 1, Contract Costs, shall eliminate the sentence, "These costs are based on final
decisions regarding Social Services turnbacks".
Except as modified herein, the terms and conditions of the original agreement (No. FY96-ND-002)
together with all exhibits of the original Agreement, remain in full force and effect.

COLORADO Agreement Between the Weld County Department of
Social Services and the Weld County Department of
Human Services
Enclosed for Board approval is an amendment to the New Directions Intergovernmental
Agreement between the Weld County Department of Social Services and the Weld County
Department of Human Services. The Agreement is for the period of July 1, 1996 through June 30,
1997.
The purpose of the Amendment is to incorporate final State allocations that we received on October
15, 1996. The final State allocations will decrease contract costs from Social Services to Human
Services from $72,507.48 to $70,720.00.
