Dear Mr. Ortiz:
Beverly Hanstrom, Colorado Medical Waste, asked that I send you this letter. Ms. Hanstrom Inquired about
the possibility of transferring Special Use Permit #918 and the associated Certificate of Designation.
Department of Planning Services staff, and County Attorney staff have determined that the permits could be
transferred to a new owner/operator provided that the following are completed:
1. A letter shall be submitted to the Department of Planning Services staff that demonstrated that
the new owner/operator of the facility has the ability to meet all requirements, development
standards, and conditions of approval.
2. The new owner/operator shall demonstrate that they have legal possession and the right to
operate the facility.
3. The new owner/operator shall submit evidence that the existing collateral is to remain in place
and current or provide a substitute collateral.
4. Evidence is provided to the Department of Planning Services staff that the State Health
Department has approved the change in owner/operator in accordance with 6CCR 1007-2
Section 1.3.9 of the Solid Waste Regulations.
