To Whom It May Concern:
We are writing to you because we are very concerned about Road
390 from Hereford to Highway 14.
There have been several accidents on this road and we would
like to see about getting it paved.
We would also like to start a petition on this matter.
Would you please advise us as very concerned citizens of how
to go about getting this road paved before someone gets hurt
worse than they have or even killed.
You may contact our Town Clerk, Mona Hayes at 970-895-2213 on
Tuesdays or Thursdays from 9 : 00 a .m. to 3 :30 p.m. regarding
this matter.
Attached you will also find a signature page of a few of the
concerned citizens which either live here or drive this road
a lot.

Dear Ms. Hayes:
This is in response to the letter dated August 29, 1996, signed by citizens from the Grover area regarding paving
Weld County Road(WCR)390 from Hereford to State Highway 14. This year seven traffic counts have been taken
between Hereford and Keota on WCR 390 and the averagem was 141 vehicles per day. Although WCR 390 is
heavily used in comparison to other roads in northern Weld County, an average daily traffic count of 141 is low.
Paving the approximately 28 miles of WCR 390 between Hereford and State Highway 14 would cost a minimum
of$150,000 per mile, for a total cost of approximately $4,200,000.
The projects for 1997 have already been identified by the Board of County Commissioners. The Board will consider
the 1998 projects in the fall of 1997 and WCR 390 will be included for consideration at that time. However,
because of the low traffic count and high cost, it is not likely WCR 390 will be selected.
We recognize the importance of WCR 390 to the people of the area. This year,the County reconstructed 1.75 miles
on WCR 390 between Hereford and Grover and we will continue to keep WCR 390 high on our list of gravel road
priorities.
