RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE CONCRETE SLOPE DITCH PAVING ON
WELD COUNTY ROAD 19 - PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XIV, Section 14-9 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter,
the ten-day waiting period for consideration and investigation of bids submitted must be waived by
resolution of the Board for emergency purposes, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for the bid for the concrete slope ditch paving on Weld County Road 19 for the Public Works
Department, Bid Request No. 9600055, due to the need for concrete in ditch for irrigation purposes,
and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-day
waiting period for said bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the bid for the concrete slope ditch paving on
Weld County Road 19 for the Public Works Department, Bid Request No. 9600055, be, and hereby
is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid for the concrete slope ditch
paving on Weld County Road 19 listed on Bid Request 9600055 be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 31st day of January, A.D., 1996.

Subject: Pricing Proposals for Ditch Paving on WCR 19 g4 .E ct( 60O65-
Proposals were received from three concrete ditch paving companies on January 25, 1996. Alvin's
Ditchline Company submitted the lowest proposal at $11,981.50. The other proposals were
$16,500.00 from Can-Do Concrete and $15,025.00 from T&T Concrete.
I have met with Alvin in the field to discuss certain issues concerning the.project. I have never
worked with Alvin's Ditchline Company and can find no reason why the project should not be
awarded to the company;therefore,I am recommending the project be awarded to Alvin's Ditchline
Company.
