RE: ACCEPT RECOMMENDATION OF ERIE AREA ROAD ADVISORY GROUP
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Intergovernmental Agreement regarding solid waste
disposal sites between Weld County and the Town of Erie, which requires the Erie Area Road
Advisory Group to review potential projects, and
WHEREAS, said group met on April 23, 1998, and agreed to the 1998 Work Plan and
presented its recommendation to the Board in a letter dated April 8, 1998, a copy of which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to accept the
recommendation of the Erie Area Road Advisory Group.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the recommendation of the Erie Area Road Advisory Group, as
detailed in the abovementioned letter dated April 8, 1998, be, and hereby is, accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Department of Public Works be,
and hereby is, directed to complete the projects as recommended by the Erie Area Road
Advisory Group.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 1st day of June, A.D., 1998.

2. Approval for"No Parking" signs west of Arrowhead Drive adjacent to the lake.
3. Approval for reduction of the speed limit on WCR 26 east of WCR 1 by the BMX Track
and the Union Reservoir.

Dear Commissioners and Council Members:
In accordance with the Intergovernmental Agreement regarding solid waste disposal sites between
Weld County and the Town of Erie, the Erie Area Road Advisory Group met to review potential
projects for 1998. The members of the Road Advisory Group were Leon Wurl,Erie Administrator;
David Sell, Erie Public Works; Drew Scheltinga, Weld County Engineer; and Dean Dreher, Weld
County Public Works.
Claud Hanes, Weld County Controller,reported that the balance of the Trust Fund is $41,045.32,
and the 1997 revenues and expenditures are $93,319.33 and $102,824.00, respectively.
For 1998, the Road Advisory Group recommends chipseal and crackfill of Weld County Road
(WCR) 5 from State Highway 7 to State Highway 52 for an estimated of cost $40,000. In addition,
the engineering cost for extending WCR 8 over Coal Creek is estimated at $50,000. The
maintenance work on WCR 5 will be included in Weld County's annual contracts. The engineering

for WCR 8 will be performed by a consulting engineer under contract with the Town of Erie. The
total cost of the two projects,totaling approximately $90,000, should easily be covered by the 1998
Trust Fund.
