Dispatch Communication Center Heads County Council's February Meeting
Jim McEachron, Sgt. with the Greeley Police Department who supervises the Dispatch
Communications Center, met with the Weld County Council at its February 7, 19% meeting at the
Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado. Sgt. McEachron invited Council members to schedule a tour
of the Communications Center. He said that he felt that this would be very helpful to aid the Council
in answering citizens' questions. President Stephanie Hayward was extremely impressed with the
operation on her recent tour of the Commuhications Center. The Council and Sgt. McEachron
discussed the relationship between the dispatchers, EMTs, the ambulance service, and Air Life.
Press coverage of specific E-911 incidents was also covered. President Stephanie Hayward
reported that Sgt. McEachron would be giving a presentation at a Weld County Council meeting later
in 1996.
Gilcrest, Keenesburg, Grover, Mead, and Windsor were towns the Council selected as
possible sights for its out-of-town meetings during 1996.
The Council heard reports from Council members regarding the efforts of County personnel to
respond to citizens' concerns. Need for greater communication between the County Commissioners
and the County Council was discussed. The County Council's unique role in the past 20 years of
Weld County's Home Rule government was discussed. Plans are being made to highlight the
Council's contributions in this its twentieth year.
